PURPOSE: To evaluate the histopathological and clinical results of eyelid tumors treated surgically. METHODS: In this single-center, retrospective, observational study, the histopathological results of 382 eyelid tumors of 369 patients who underwent excision between 2003 and 2023 were reviewed. All patients diagnosed with eyelid tumors at a university tertiary referral hospital in southern Türkiye were included. RESULTS: Of the 369 patients included in the study, 59.7% were female and 40.3% were male, and the mean age was 54.41±18.11 years. Of the 382 cases, 70.9% were benign, and 29.1% were malignant eyelid tumors. When all cases were evaluated, on histopathological examination, the most common benign eyelid tumor was intradermal nevus in 69 cases (18%), while the most common malignant eyelid tumor was basal cell carcinoma in 89 cases (23%). While malignant eyelid tumors were more likely to be located on the lower lid, benign eyelid tumors were more likely to be located on the upper lid (P=0.000). Benign eyelid tumors were more common at younger ages and in females (P=0.000). CONCLUSION: Ophthalmologists and pathologists should be aware of the clinical features of rare eyelid tumors. To distinguish between benign and malignant tumors, biopsy must be performed and examined histopathologically.
