Source abstract
Nail disorders represent a relatively uncommon but diverse group of conditions seen in pediatric patients. Management varies largely by etiology. Some inflammatory nail disorders in children are self-limited, whereas others may lead to permanent nail loss if not recognized and treated early. In addition, certain nail disorders may present differently in children than adults and may suggest increased systemic disease burden. In Part 2 of this two-part continuing medical education series, we review inflammatory, pigmentary, and neoplastic nail disorders in children and propose clinical approach algorithms for pediatric nail psoriasis and longitudinal melanonychia.
